Garrett "Jonesy" Jones' claim to fame: Outfielder and first baseman for the Indianapolis Indians; while in the Majors in '07, hit a homer off Josh Beckett at Fenway Park.
In 15 words or fewer, I want the world to know...
that being patient and waiting for the right moment to come, things will come your way eventually.
Where were you last weekend?
Last weekend, we were... Where were we? Were we here? Every day runs together, it seems like.
Where do you go to get away from your fans?
I like to just drive around by myself and listen to the radio and see different things. Or lying by the pool.
If you were mayor of this city, what one thing would you change?
Some of the roads -- I've hit some pretty big potholes.
Who is your favorite local celebrity?
The Colts and Peyton Manning, with their new stadium, which is awesome.
What piece of clothing do you wish you'd never worn?
My sister and my cousin used to dress me up when I was real little -- they were older than me -- and they would put me in girls' dresses. They have a bunch of pictures of those. I wish I hadn't gone through with that, but I was only about 4 years old at the time. I didn't know what was going on.
If you were to go to jail for life tomorrow, what's the last meal you'd eat in this town?
St. Elmo's. They do a pretty good steak over there.
Best rumor about yourself?
Some guys said that I had more power than an Adam Dunn, or more power compared to some of those home run hitters. Whether it's true or a rumor, it still meant a lot.
If you became a national celebrity, what would you most look forward to?
Probably being able to help people. I like going to make appearances at hospitals and helping out little kids and putting a smile on their face
Which celebrity would you most want to round the bases with?
Marisa Miller (supermodel) or Jessica Biel. Running around holding hands with them -- that'd be fun.
You're going up to bat in the World Series -- what would your walk-up song be?
"'Whiskey in the Jar,' by Metallica. That was the song that was playing when I had four home runs in one game. I like the beat. It gets me focused.
Indianapolis: Love it or leave it?
Love it. Compared to a lot of cities we play in, Indy is one of the best. The restaurants and nightlife are in the same area, and the people -- everybody I've met has been great.
