Picnics, pool parties, pitch-ins — there are lots of reasons this time of year to grab some sandwiches and dine outdoors. But there are only so many ho-hum combinations a person can eat.

So I was happy to stop in recently at Vine & Table Gourmet Market for some top-notch carry-out.

Vine & Table is primarily a gourmet food and wine shop (with indoor and outdoor dining); it boasts great cheeses and even a sushi station. But if you can pass up the temptation presented by all the dips, spreads, crackers, cheese and chocolates, the carry-out counter provides plenty of terrific options.
