BRICS is Open, Summer is Here

Broad Ripple has a new ice cream shop: BRICS or Broad Ripple Ice Cream Station, located at the old Whistle Stop Cafe, next to the Monon. Wanderers just off of the trail and those seeking relief from the summer heat trickle into this super sweet spot to find their minds blown with 30 flavors, 18 toppings, and endless possibilities. Shakes, malts, floats, coffee, smoothies, and eight suggested ice cream flavor combinations like, the Mother Load (four scoops of ice cream, five toppings, real whipped cream, and a cherry) and Bric House (three scoops of ice cream, chocolate chips, hot fudge, crushed Oreos, whipped cream, and a cherry,) only add to the dilemma that will be the hardest decision of your day.

The aftershock of BRICS is their pricing. A generous single scoop is just under $3. Notable ice cream flavors for those reaching beyond vanilla and chocolate are Cotton Candy Confetti - speckled with mini multi colored chocolates, Yellow Cake Batter swirled with chocolate frosting, French Silk, Broad Ripple Black Cherry, and many, many more. Sherbet and frozen yogurt options are also available. Frozen confections for all! I absolutely LOVED that BRICS had more than one peanut butter option: peanut butter in vanilla ice cream AND peanut butter in chocolate ice cream, because really, when should peanut butter ever be without chocolate? Never is the correct answer.

Intrigued by the Caramel X 3, I ordered a scoop. Caramel flavored ice cream churned with ribbons of caramel and chocolate covered caramel candies, it was a sugar explosion. Take my advice and run/bike/drive directly to BRICS and chill out with a cone full of amazing.
