Best of Metromix Indianapolis: BRUNCH
Yeah, it's the meal we don't really know why exists in the first place. It's either because someone wanted delicious food after sleeping in from a night of drinking or, on the opposite side of the moral coin, it was invented for the after-church eaters. It doesn't matter which one -- or both -- fits you. What we really want to know is, where do you get your post-breakfast, pre-lunch meal?
And the winner is…

Sick of McArbyKing but still in need of quick eats? Taste handles a weekday lunch or Sunday brunch with equal aplomb, and the coolers are filled with all kinds of gourmet treats. Salads, deli sandwiches and pomme frites with basil aioli dip are lunchtime favorites, but Taste's omelets and weekend egg specials are developing a loyal breakfast clientele. The cafe's spare interior is lit with pendant fixtures reflecting on brushed aluminum surfaces. Sidewalk tables are available next to the bustle of College Avenue.
A2Z Cafe
4705 E. 96th St.

Hoaglin To Go Cafe & Marketplace

Indianapolis, IN 46204Neighborhood: Downtown
Jared hasn't cornered the market on fast, healthy sandwiches. Pick up breakfast on the way to work or grab a healthy lunch in this bright storefront cafe. Watch the world go by along Mass. Ave. with a sandwich at least half as stylish as the artists and fashion-forward fellas from the 'hood.
