This place knows beer, and has an assortment of award winners unlike anything else, from their crisp and light raspberry wheat to their chewy snake pit to a classic Heffeuberweizen. Atmosphere is English pub, with fantastic nostalgic flair aimed at the art of beer. See the brewery from the bar area behind the glass, step onto the patio for a private intimate feel, or book a private room for a special event. Staff are excellent and friendly, and the food is even better. The buffalo chicken sandwhich is my favorite of its kind anywhere, but sheppards pie and other entres are also winners. The steak fries as a side are a must. The food quality is far above pub fare, and there is a variety of dishes for everyone. Prices are very reasonable, and when you fall in love with one of their beers you can take a case of it or a growler to go.

Oaken Barrel is one of mine and my husbands favorite places. It's special and there's no other place like it for us. The food is great and we have always had great service. I'm not a beer drinker but the Razz Wheat is something I can't pass up. Oaken Barrel also has the best BBQ Ribs I've ever had. Love you Oaken Barrel

The menu has solid picks ranging from Schnipp wings to scrumptious salads to pasta and pizza.

The variety of beers will satisfy the palate of any beer Zook. The brewmasters make seasonal beers and have beers they brew year round that are mighty tasty.

The outside beer garden is one of the best in Indy and the view is very Schnepp like.

Oaken Barrel is its own brewery with three award winning beers. The greatest is a Raspberry Wheat (a several time gold winner). Then you get some Idaho Nachos. These are waffle fries covered in all the good stuff: beef or chicken, melted cheese, salsa, sour cream, jalapenos, and beans. Simply amazing and enough for two to three offensive line men. Then the king of kings when it comes to tenderloins. It is as big as your head and the best I have ever had. You are ofcourse enjoying all of this while watching any of the hometown or sports games on one of the 8 x 50 in HD flat screens or the huge projector screen in the bar specific area. The place is smoke free, service is great, and has a family seating area. What I consider to be the best kept secret in Greenwood. It is located right off of main street next to what use to be the comedy connection (the building with the plane crashed into the roof).
