Local chef Greg Hardesty took a short “recess” after selling Elements Restaurant, but now he’s getting ready to open the eagerly awaited new operation, Recess.
Recess doesn’t claim a particular culinary theme or genre; more so, it will be Hardesty’s creative playground (thus the name). Hardesty’s specialties range from delicious, sloppy comfort food to meticulously executed gastronomic art, with everything in between.
Diners can check the Web site, www.recessindy.com, to see what’s being served for dinner. In other words, Hardesty notes on his blog, “We aren’t going to ask you to navigate an overwhelming menu. What we will do is cook a dinner that features the best local ingredients and reflects our mood in the kitchen.”
That could be a seven-course tasting menu, or a Mexican taco fiesta. Recess will open later this year at 4907 N. College Ave.; it also will serve takeout. Check the Web site for updates.
Almost time for Recess
