Talib Kweli at the Vogue
By David Lindquist, Metromix
Talib Kweli expresses misgivings about being held up as the representative for all that's great about hip-hop, but he fills the role so well. The Brooklyn native conveyed succinct messages through hundreds of inventive rhymes Sunday night at the Vogue. He also reunited Reflection Eternal with unadvertised guest Hi-Tek, and Kweli even sang Nina Simone's "Sinnerman" as a way to honor artists sampled in rap songs.
