Haste the Day's farewell show

Haste the Day, the most popular rock band to emerge from Indiana during the last decade, closed its career on notes of strength and humility Friday night at the Egyptian Room in Old National Centre. Strength was represented in Haste the Day's signature metalcore sound -- sugary, lightning-quick guitar riffs matched to ferocious vocals and a soul-quaking rhythm section. Humility was heard during the between-song banter of vocalist Stephen Keech. He pledged gratitude to God and the band's fans, and he advocated inclusive love rather than a life based on judging others.
