Dave Matthews Band at Verizon
With good reason, the songs of new album “Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King” dominated Friday night’s Dave Matthews Band show at Verizon Wireless Music Center. “Groogrux” is a bold, energetic tribute to late band member LeRoi Moore presented in the chin-up spirit of a New Orleans funeral procession. Two of the most muscular party tunes in the group’s catalog -- “Why I Am” and “Shake Me Like a Monkey”-- appear on the album and made a splash in concert.
