I hear you, sketchy. I thought Star writers (and editors) were PROFESSIONALS. I guess you can't always count on spell check. Just because the word is spelled correctly doesn't mean it is the correct word.

to make do - idiom - to function, manage, or operate, usually on a deprivation level with minimal requirements: During the war we had no butter or coffee, so we had to make do without them. to make due - nonsense phrase.
