The Provo, Utah, quartet's second album explores that type of moody, occasionally propulsive, synth-driven rock that British bands owned during the past decade. The results are mostly generic with a few exceptions: Everybody Talks opens with a snippet of doo-wop, then heads toward Strokes territory via a snappy hook; and I Am the DJ will ignite swooning on the dance floor.
