March 18: "Paul"
Someone must have decided March was sci-fi month at the movies, because week three brings us a sci-fi comedy written by and starring “Hot Fuzz” and “Shaun of the Dead” buddies Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. This time they’re working with director Greg Mottola (“Superbad”) and a crazy cool supporting cast: Kristen Wiig, Jason Bateman, Bill Hader, Sigourney Weaver, Jane Lynch, Jeffrey Tambor, David Koechner, Jesse Plemons and Seth Rogen as the voice of the title animated alien. Hopefully it’ll live up to the talent involved.
Also opening: Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish star in “Limitless,” a flashy thriller about an experimental drug; Matthew McConaughey, Marisa Tomei and Ryan Phillippe bring a best-selling legal thriller to the screen in “The Lincoln Lawyer.”
