Toronto is known for launching or boosting Oscar contenders (“Slumdog Millionaire” made a big splash last year) and that will definitely be true of director Jason Reitman’s funny, smart, engaging story of a traveling man (a career-best George Clooney) who realizes he’s going nowhere. With lovely supporting turns from Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick.
