I had heard this movie wasn't that scary, and I guess the "S" on my chest and Diana Prince wristbands took over again because I went to check it out. At night. During the LAST showing of the night... Right before it was time for me to go to bed. (SMH. Not smart, KR.)

Let's just say the rumormill failed me this time.

"Orphan" was by far one of the scariest flicks I've seen in a LONG time. I started jumping (much to the chagrin of my BF) at the very beginning of the movie. And it wasn't the Freddy Krueger kind of dumb-scary-movie, scary. It was well-thought-out story line, make-you-think-you-know-what's-happening-next-but-AHA!-you-dont, scary. As soon as I thought I had it figured out and could relax, BAM! another twist.

The acting was really good, too. No boob-exposed (although there was a steamy sex scene moms, so FYI) bad acting, screaming blondes in this one, and the child actors were actually impressive. I'm still having nightmares a week later, but hey, I've got an active imagination.

Bottom line: A good story line + Interesting characters + Great scary parts = Solid scary movie. See it, but not before bed. =)
