True Blood's Comic-Con panel Saturday wasn't as wild as life in Bon Temps, La., but participants certainly gave it their best.

Stars of the HBO drama, which was recently renewed for a sixth season, showed off their sexy dance moves to a boisterous crowd. Others talked about their characters' experiences with bustiers, corsets and hangovers. And executive producer Alan Ball promised to raise the temperature for viewers.

"There will be some very hot sex scenes and some wacky, crazy" ones, he said. "Between those two, I think all tastes will be satisfied."

Even Christopher Meloni, who saw a little bit of everything as a New York detective on Law & Order: SVU, has had his eyes opened playing the role of Roman, the guardian of the vampire Authority.

"There were fangs, more characters (than on SVU), werepanthers," he said, adding that he'd never heard of the last one. And "what's a sex crime on this show is very different."

Meloni, however, got into the spirit of things when he took the role, asking, "If I become a vampire, you've got to let me stake somebody." He had his wish granted.

Blood veterans say they're having fun this season with unusual acting pairings, such as Rutina Wesley's Tara, the new vampire, playing against Deborah Ann Woll's more experienced Jessica.

"I'm always looking for ways of putting new combinations of actors together," Ball said.

Some actors who have worked together now have different relationships, as is the case with rival vampires Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), who have had to work together to save their own lives.

"There were four years of us fighting," Skarsgard said. "And now there's like a Butch Cassidy/Sundance Kid thing."

As Season 5 progresses, Ball said he would reveal more about the parents of Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) Stackhouse. "We'll learn a little more about Michelle and Curtis Stackhouse and the remaining effect on Sookie and especially on Jason."
