Tailgating for the pros
Nothing against flat beer and flaccid hot dogs, but at some point in your tailgating life — like age 21 — you have to grow up. The Slow Food movement has put “fresh and local” on the tip of everyone’s tongue; football fans and foodies no longer play on opposite teams.
So for this tailgating issue of Metromix, we brought out the big guns: “Egghead” Grillmaster/Chef JJ Boston of JJ’s Back Yard, Chris Revercomb from Zing, the one-and-only “Hoosier Momma” (inventor of the popular Bloody Mary mix) and Dorman Street Saloon mixologist Andy Ashley.
So step up your game with their suggestions for meat, music, decor and drinks. Remember, you’re trying to be a little classier — or at least as classy as you can get while partying in a truck bed.
