So these four roommates capture an intruder, tie him up and then decide…well, he’s kinda hot. Their fixation becomes the basis of “The Boy in the Basement,” one of IndyFringe’s most-talked-about shows. Callie Burk of Wisdom Tooth Productions, based at Anderson University, directs and acts in the “comic-book romance novel,” which features four characters: a cynical sexpot, a Christian pig-farmer’s daughter, a dominatrix and an earthy hippie. Complaining that “my generation are not theatergoing people,” the 28-year-old Burk and her colleagues plan to aggressively market the show (featuring local band the Deadbeats) to the under-40 crowd.
