If there's an upside to a down economy, it's this: More starving artists means record numbers of entries at local art fairs. More than 600 professional artists from around the country applied for 225 juried spots in the May 16 and 17 Broad Ripple Art Fair. The Talbot Street Art Fair (June 13 & 14) has a waiting list for its 264 exhibit spaces. So many entries translate into so much variety. Here's a look at what to expect from some of the city's most popular summer festivals:
