Here’s your weekly movie news!

  • Regal Cinemas is offering a free family film festival this summer, playing a variety of family-friendly G- and PG-rated films Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Check the schedule at regmovies.com for showtimes and a schedule of films.
  • The Indianapolis International Film Festival returns for its 2009 run this July, and four Hoosier filmmakers will have their short films featured at the fest. Kate Chaplin's "First They Came For", Dan T Hall's "America On Wheels: Model T", Brian Pearce's "Illusions of Life", and Tim Pollard's "Free Will" will all be featured this year, competing for the Hoosier Lens Award.   • Wanna be an actor? Check out Indy Film News as well for casting calls for actors to work in movies filmed in Indiana.
  • Finally, Indy Film News reports a screening of the film "The Alpha and the Mega," which chronicles the rise of the "Megachurch" and its effect on American society. The screening is Saturday, July 11 at 10:00 am at the Hamilton 16 IMAX in Noblesville off of I-69 and SR 238.
