Seth Green brings Chicken tour to town

Seth Green has cut quite a swath through popular culture. He's appeared on TV shows from "Beverly Hills, 90210" to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and is the co-creator/producer of "Robot Chicken," the animated action-figure comedy on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim."

Oh, and you've also seen him in the "Austin Powers" films, playing Dr. Evil's sarcastic illegitimate son Scott. Green, along with "Chicken" cohorts Breckin Meyer and Matthew Senreich, will stop in Indy Aug. 8 for their "Robot Chicken on Wheels" skating party tour at Skateland. Green talked to Metromix about why he's on such a roll these days.

So... Robot Chicken skating tour? What's up with that?
I was trying to think about how to get the word out for our new DVD (Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II), 'cause it's just so hard to get the word out that stuff is happening. There's just so much around, between the Web and TV and radio and DVD and books. We wanted to cut through that noise and talk directly to our fans. How better than to offer them something for free?

Why did you choose Indianapolis as a tour stop?
We had to pick the most direct route across the country we could. (Editor's note: The tour started in San Diego and ends in New York.) We know people are disappointed that we're not coming to their town, but if any of us survive this, and it's a success, we're going to try it on a much larger scale.

You pretty much spend your day playing with action figures. How does that translate into a job?
That so wasn't the genesis of it. We set out just to make a show that made us laugh. The fact that so many people connect with these characters is really shocking.

We heard you were on "Monday Night Raw" a few weeks back.
Greatest night of my life, dude.

A lot of people just show up. But you got in the ring, too.
I punched Cody Rhodes in the throat, and I broke up Randy Orton's 3-count.

So going off of that, who would win in a real-life fight between you and Eric Murphy from "Entourage"?
Kevin Connelly and I have been friends for years, and I'd never fight him in real life. But we have been in situations where we had to fight side-by-side.
