Claim to fame: Bachelorette-for-sale at the Guys & Dolls Auction Gala, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s annual fundraiser.
Does it make you nervous — being put up for auction — even if it is for a good cause?
I’m not nervous, I’m terrified! Our vacation package will be the show opener, so at least we’ll get to relax the rest of the evening. I’ve been trying to convince all of my friends to bust out their checkbooks and bid on me. All of us bachelors and bachelorettes have the same anxious feelings, so knowing we’re all in it together is comforting.
What’s the No. 1 dating rule you never break?
Dating one of my agents or colleagues. (Kostello is Indiana market manager for Secura Insurance.)
What’s the No. 2 dating rule you never break — unless they’re really hot?
Contacting the guy first. I’m usually pretty stubborn about it, but I have broken that rule in the past, and I’m certain I’ll do it again.
Where are you most likely to be found just hanging out?
Brothers in Ripple. Is Target a hangout?
If you were mayor of this city, what one thing would you change?
Mandatory recycling and a smoking ban! Can I have both?
Who is YOUR favorite local celebrity?
Two of my friends, Neil Osburn and Amber Roeger, are “Bigs” in the Big Brother/Big Sister program. They dedicate time and money to positively influence a child who may not have someone to look up to. Amber also has been involved with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and her spirit and ability to get others excited is what makes her a local celebrity in my mind.
If you were to go to jail for life, what’s the last restaurant meal you’d eat in this town?
Bosphorus Istanbul Cafe. Their chicken couscous and hummus plates are so tasty. I love the service and the feeling that I’m a guest in someone’s house. It’s cozy and cute.
What are three things you have to do in the next five years?
Travel the world, learn how to make a decent turkey, and go on a hot-air balloon ride.
Indianapolis: Love it or leave it?
When I first moved to Indiana, I was less than thrilled with it, but three years have passed, and I’ve made some of the best friends! I still travel back and forth to visit my family in Wisconsin, but I’ll use the words “I’m going home” to describe both directions.
