Acoustic Ascent Open Stage
(East Indy)Expand your exposure on the music scene and showcase your original material at this weekly acoustic open stage where you're given a 10-minute slot in which to perform. The best artists will be selected for a monthly Local Artists Showcase and selected artists will be videotaped with audio, and posted on Facebook along with a review and link(s) to artists' page(s). Performers sign-up is at 6 p.m.

Icarus Ensemble
Jazz Kitchen - 5377 N. College Ave. - Indianapolis (Broad Ripple)The players in the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra jazz side project include Jon Crabiel, percussion; Dean Franke, violin; Peter Hansen, bass; Mark Ortwein, electric bassoon, soprano sax and bass clarinet and Gary Walters, piano. The members are all regular players with the ISO and other local groups as well as active educators. They play a broad mix of music, from classically inspired jazz, to jazz and pop standards, to original compositions from group members.
